Vignobles Malartic

Always great wine enthusiasts, Alfred and Michèle Bonnie acquired Château Malartic-Lagravière at the end of 1996. Drawn to the exceptional terroir and the immense potential of its wines, they committed themselves to an impassioned revival of the quality of this Grand Cru Classé de Graves, for both red and white wines, renewing rapidly with his splendor.

Joined by their children in 2003, they acquired the neighbouring Château Gazin Rocquencourt at the end of 2005, which the Grand Cru team manages with the same high standards of quality. 2005 is also the year of their arrival in Argentina within the Clos de los Siete, where they created the stunning Bodega DiamAndes.

From Bordeaux to Mendoza, Vignobles Malartic’s teams, henceforth led by Véronique and Jean-Jacques, work with passion and precision to produce, vintage after vintage, refined, intense, complex wines, for the pleasure of wine enthusiasts all over the world!

In honour of the Count Hippolyte of Malartic, admiral who served the Kings of France and owner of the Domaine in the 18th Century, the Château was renamed Malartic-Lagravière.

Gazin Rocquencourt

Gazin Rocquencourt

Château Gazin Rocquencourt’s origins can be traced back to the Middle Ages. 17th century texts suggest that the first vines were planted in 1660, when it was known simply as Château Gazin. It is also recognized as one of the oldest estates in the commune.

Located on a splendid dry gravel hilltop on the left bank of the Eau Blanche River in Léognan, the property covers 28 hectares (70 acres), 22 of which are vines in the Pessac-Léognan appellation.

A new era began at Château Gazin Rocquencourt when it was acquired in February 2006 by the Bonnie family, the owners of the nearby Château Malartic-Lagravière (Classified Growth of Graves).
The vineyard has been gradually restructuring in order to bring out the superb gravel terroir of Gazin Rocquencourt which enormous potential is recognized by the best experts. The Vignobles Malartic internal environmental chapter is applied to Gazin terroir: ploughing, sustainable farming, HEV, organic and biodynamic parcels…

A new entirely gravity-flow winery operating since 2007 is in the care of Malartic’s team. Since 2010, a Gazin Rocquencourt white – 100% sauvignon – is produced. The Château, restored in its magnificent park surrounded by the vines, is hosted by the family since 2008.

The Château Gazin Rocquencourt thus consolidated, vintage after vintage, its place among the jewels of the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in white as in red.
