Château Malartic Lagravière is a beautiful wine estate in the Bordeaux region. A family-run property with a rich history, it is one of the jewels of Bordeaux’s cultural heritage. A Grand Cru Classé near the city of Bordeaux, the Château is well-equipped to receive visitors and offers an idyllic setting. Charm, elegance and superb hospitality facilities… what more could you ask for?
For the 2019 season, Château Malartic Lagravière has strengthened its hospitality team, is open on Saturdays, and offers visitors even more wine tourism activities. A selection of authentic, customized experiences includes private or group tours by appointment, a varied range of gastronomic options, themed tastings and receptions.
This unique site on the outskirts of Bordeaux stands on one of the most magnificent gravel hilltops in the region; a passionately run family property with a dynamic team that offers every visitor an unforgettable experience.
Located on the most beautiful gravel hilltop in the region, Château Malartic-Lagravière, a prestigious Graves Grand Cru Classé for both its red and white wines, has been owned by Alfred & Michèle Bonnie and their children since 1997 and lies just outside of Bordeaux, in the heart of the region’s oldest vineyards.
Entirely renovated by Alfred & Michèle Bonnie family, it is a haven of peace, where the art of hospitality is a philosophy. 15 kilometres south of Bordeaux, less than half an hour from the station or airport, the Château receives visitors all year round for tours and customized gastronomic experiences; it also hosts private and corporate receptions: enjoy a truly memorable occasion at a Grand Cru Classé just outside Bordeaux!
The Hospitality at Malartic team organizes a variety of activities that include all types of private or group tours, the “Premium Château” tasting, the “Cheese Workshop”, “Discovery Grape Varieties”, and “Chef Workshop”. The team is always keen to share Malartic’s philosophy and provides a commentary during tours of the winery, and tastings of Vignobles Malartic’s wines. Special emphasis is placed on the characteristics of the vineyards. The environmentally-friendly approach adopted at the property, to which the owners have been committed for more than twenty years, is thus explained in detail. These environmental practices are enshrined in Vignobles Malartic’s internal charter, presented in a graphic format.
Furthermore, since the Bonnie family owns a bodega in Argentina, themed tours are offered such as the “Grape Varieties & Discovery” tasting. A Franco-Argentine journey for the senses, which allows you to compare the Argentine grape varieties used to produce DiamAndes’ wines with those of Bordeaux.
Various gastronomic activities are also available: the “Cheese Workshop” has been a great success! “Chef Workshop”, original cooking classes are organized for smaller groups. These gourmet mornings are offered by our chef, who will instruct you in the preparation of delicious dishes, that naturally go very well with Vignobles Malartic’s wines! Set off on a culinary voyage that includes wonders such as canelés from Bordeaux and empanadas from Argentina!
Visitors also have an opportunity to see the exquisite residential part of the château, where the “Premium Château“, a special pairing of 3 wines is held, and exclusive lunches and dinners are hosted. We then enter the heart of the Grand Cru Classé…
During the renovation of the property in 1997, the old winery was beautifully restored and decorated to offer separate rental accommodation surrounded by Malartic’s vineyards. Overlooking the Château and its park, the delightful “Vieux Chais de Malartic” building has a rich history and makes a superb venue for private and corporate receptions. With capacity for 200 to 300 people, the rooms open onto an outdoor terrace overlooking the Château and its park. Fully equipped and independent, it is can be adapted to suit almost any event.
For businesses, the Hospitality at Malartic is ideal, with a range of facilities for presentations, meetings and conferences. After a reception in the morning, a flexible programme can be organized during the day, including lunch or dinner, and a private tour of the property with a tasting workshop. Malartic’s team are always ready to adapt and make every effort to ensure that clients and their guests enjoy a unique, unforgettable experience. The old winery is available for weddings and private events on an independent basis, including at weekends, with the possibility wine tourism activities being included.
The Bonnie family and their team are deeply committed to the development of wine tourism. This is reflected in their investment in high-quality facilities and the creation of a customized hospitality programme.
