Superb 2023 vintage at Malartic<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

As our run-off ends on October 26, here are Jean-Jacques Bonnie’ first impressions of the 2023 vintage:<\/p>\n

The 2023 vintage<\/span> demanded a great deal of attention and precision in vineyard management<\/strong>. Sanitary pressure this summer was high, but well under control. From flowering in May to the end of October, we adapt to these new ripening cycles to obtain the best from our grapes.<\/p>\n

Mild temperatures until the 3rd week of August favored the whites, which are already showing fabulous aromatic expressions<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The Merlot grapes<\/span><\/strong>, which were harvested from September 12 onwards, have now all been run-off and transferred into barrels. They are very well defined and show great freshness.<\/strong>
\nAfter the salutary rains of September 18, Indian summer set in for good, with summer temperatures and cool nights. These conditions are absolutely ideal for perfecting the ripeness of our Cabernets<\/span><\/strong>, harvested until October 6. In vats, they’re already proving high potential,<\/strong> and we can’t wait to see them evolve in barrels.
\nThe Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc <\/span>are splendid in their refinement and quality. This is certainly a very fine vintage on the horizon. Stay tuned!<\/p>\n
