“Awesome levels of blackcurrants, darker cherries, roasted herbs, chocolate, and scorched earth all emerge from the 2022 Ch\u00e2teau Malartic-Lagravi\u00e8re, an incredibly concentrated, rich, layered beauty<\/strong> that has velvety tannins, a deep, layered mid-palate, and a blockbuster finish<\/strong>. It’s easily the finest I’ve tasted from this ch\u00e2teau <\/strong>and is a riveting 2022<\/strong> that deserves 4-6 years in the cellar and will keep for two decades or more.”<\/em><\/p>\n

Malartic white 2022 was also awarded a fine 96\/100, with this commentary:<\/p>\n

“The 2022 Ch\u00e2teau Malartic-Lagravi\u00e8re Blanc is tighter and more closed compared to the second wine, yet it has remarkable purity, precision, and length<\/strong>. Crushed citrus, melon rind, mint, and some floral notes all define the aromatics, and it’s flawlessly balanced on the palate, with solid acidity, medium to full-bodied richness, and a mineral, salty character on the finish that keeps you coming back to the glass. Based on 76% Sauvignon and 24% S\u00e9millon, it\u2019s up with the top whites in the vintage.”<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

We are very proud of these distinctions, which reward the work of an entire team, for a vintage whose details you will find in video with Jean-Jacques Bonnie there.<\/a><\/p>\n

2022 Vintage:<\/h3>\n

In the vineyard, we were able to adapt and help the vines protect themselves as much as possible by applying limestone and clay, like sun cream. Plant cover also helped by protecting the soil from the sun and retaining the morning dew. Our philosophy of gentle extractions and meticulous work in the winery was more effective than ever, producing wines with a velvety texture characterized by tremendous purity and freshness. These are polished, refined Malartics with a superb aromatic profile.<\/p>\n
